Salted Caramel Chocolate Cupcake Shakes - Boxing Day - Baked Occasions

Oh my goodness! This shake is amazing! If you consider the work involved to make the cupcakes and ice cream first there is actually a lot of effort involved. For me, I saved two of red wine cupcakes in my deep freeze until I was ready to make the shakes. That helped reduce the amount of extra goodies around the house too. I had no problem at all with making another batch of salty caramel ice cream because that is one of my favorite recipes from this book.

When the ingredients for the shake were all assembled putting together the shakes took no time at all. I was glad that I had my Vitamix because it did take a little bit of effort to break up the cupcake and blend it all together. It would be great to use this recipe with leftover cake, pie, and ice cream from Christmas celebrations.

Boxing day was never something that we celebrated or even heard about growing up, but it sounds like a great concept. We could all use more time and reasons to get together with friends. These cupcake shakes sure do make a great reason to see friends.

The recipe for these and thoughts from other bakers can be found at Baked Sunday Mornings here.
